We had just scored on a boat this summer. It was quite the find, too. We had a 2004 Enduro Motorcyle that we had been trying to sell for awhile. We didn't have any takers, but a lot of interest in it.

Then one day, my husband told me that a friend of ours was trying to sell his boat. I was only half interested because I knew that we didn't have the money to buy anything like that.

"How much is he selling it for," I asked.

"About $1600 is what he wants," my husband replied. "Wish we had the money because it is a nice tri-hull boat. A Fibreform at that, the best you can get."

"Really," I returned. "You know that we have been trying to sell the motorcylce for $1600. Why don't you see if they'll trade for it."

My husband lit up and thought that, that was a perfect idea since the guy had 4 teenage boys. All of them had been drewling over the bike for the past year but couldn't get Mom and Dad convinced to buy it for them.

The bike got cleaned and shined up, started and warmed up and off it went on its way to be presented as a trade for the boat. I stayed at home since I didn't want to see the outcome of it...no confidence there at all, right? Hmmmm.

About a half an hour later, my husband comes back with a look on his face that I couldn't quite read. He then presented me with a title and registration to our new boat. They went for the trade. Wow!!! What a deal.

The Dad took the motorcycle out first for a spin. He came back after a great run. He smiled and told us that the deal was now done for sure. He wrecked out in the woods and broke the front fender and had some trophy scrapes on his arms and chest. He said that the bike went one way and he went the other. He was laughing about it the whole time. Good thing. Also, good thing that Dad took it out first and was the first to wreck. Not sure how it would have turned out if one the boys did that first.

We went out on our boat after we made all the legal changes and got it insured. Our neighbors had a tube that we could use, so we took them along with us. We had a blast, and are continuing to enjoy our trade to this day.

Here are some photos of our first day out with our kids and the neighbors. I tried the tube, but didn't like it too much. I am great flag holder or driver, instead.

Enjoy the photos....
